Cody Lundin

Cody Lundin is an internationally recognized survival instructor with more than two decades of hands-on teaching experience. He is an author and podcast host of "Keep Your Ass Alive."

Inspired by his homesteading grandparents in rural South Dakota, he developed an early passion for self-reliance that became the foundation of his life’s work. Raised in a military family and later spending his teen years exploring the Wyoming wilderness with minimal gear, Lundin honed the practical skills that would define his career.

In 1991, he founded the Aboriginal Living Skills School in Arizona with less than $10, turning a personal calling into a respected institution. He is the best-selling author of “98.6 Degrees: The Art of Keeping Your Ass Alive” (2003) and “When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need to Survive When Disaster Strikes” (2006), both widely regarded as essential survival guides.

Lundin gained national recognition as co-host of Discovery Channel’s “Dual Survival” and has appeared on programs including “The Today Show.” A former cover subject of Backpacker magazine, he has also consulted for media organizations and government agencies on survival, primitive skills and urban preparedness.

An adjunct faculty member at Yavapai College and the Ecosa Institute, Lundin teaches survival and sustainability with a blend of rigor and humor. He lives in northern Arizona in a self-designed, off-grid, passive solar earth home that reflects his lifelong commitment to practical sustainability and environmental stewardship.
