Chef Claudia Sandoval is an award-winning chef, bestselling author, TV host, and executive producer, internationally recognized for her modern approach to Mexican cuisine and her deep commitment to community. Her career launched after winning Season 6 of “MasterChef U.S.,” and over the past decade, she has built an impressive television résumé with appearances as both judge and competitor on “Chopped,” “Chopped Jr.,” “Worst Cooks in America,” “Budget Battles,” “Tournament of Champions,” “Grudge Match,” “Easter Basket Challenge,” “Best Thing I Ever Ate,” and “Top Chef VIP”. She has also brought her voice and expertise to Spanish-language audiences, serving as a judge on “MasterChef Latino” (Telemundo) and “MasterChef Latinos” (Estrella TV).

Beyond her on-camera work, Sandoval has made her mark behind the scenes as executive producer and host of the docuseries “Taste of the Border” (Discovery+) and “La Mesa Mexa” (Bite Originals), both of which earned praise for their powerful storytelling and exploration of the flavors, traditions, and social dynamics along the U.S.–Mexico border.

Born in San Diego, California, to a family from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Claudia learned to cook at a young age from her mother and grandmother. Her culinary style—a modern take on Mexican coastal cuisine—is rooted in her heritage, shaped by her cross-border upbringing, and fueled by a passion for telling the stories embedded in every dish. That ethos shines in her bestselling cookbook “Claudia’s Cocina: A Taste of Mexico,” which cemented her reputation as one of the leading voices in contemporary Mexican cuisine in the U.S.

Her work has been featured in Forbes, People en Español, and multiple magazine covers, and she’s a frequent guest on “The Drew Barrymore Show”. Claudia has also been highlighted in the Justice for Migrant Women initiative, further reinforcing her advocacy for social equity, community empowerment, and the visibility of Latina women in all spaces.

Sandoval is the founder of Claudia’s Cocina, a culinary consulting and catering company that has partnered with global brands including Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Kellogg’s, Disney, T-Mobile, and Tajín. Her pop-up bakery, Cochi Dorado, has earned national acclaim for its inventive and culturally resonant reimagination of traditional Mexican pan dulce, appearing on national TV and digital platforms alike.

Now celebrating 10 years since her “MasterChef” win, Sandoval has far surpassed her original goal of matching the $250,000 prize she received. To date, she has helped raise more than $1 million dollars for nonprofits, community-driven organizations, and initiatives that create lasting change.

She currently serves as a judge for the prestigious James Beard Broadcast Media Awards and produces cross-border culinary experiences and festivals—including the acclaimed Culinary Concerto—that celebrate culture, food, and binational collaboration.
