Christopher Darden

Christopher Darden is an American lawyer, author, and lecturer who rose to national prominence as a co-prosecutor in the O.J. Simpson murder trial. Before that defining moment, Darden spent 15 years with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, building a reputation as a skilled prosecutor handling a wide range of criminal cases.

Following the trial, Darden became a sought-after legal commentator, appearing on major networks including CNN, NBC, CNBC, and Court TV. He has also made guest appearances on television shows such as Touched by an Angel, Girlfriends, and Roseanne, reflecting his broader cultural visibility.

In addition to his legal and media work, Darden is a co-author of crime novels, including The Trials of Nikki Hill and L.A. Justice. He has remained active in private practice, representing clients in notable cases, including Eric Ronald Holder Jr., accused in the killing of Nipsey Hussle, as well as matters stemming from protests during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also previously represented a suspect connected to the killing of Pop Smoke.

Darden has received recognition for his community impact, including the Crystal Heart Award from Loved Ones of Homicide Victims and “Humanitarian of the Year” honors. His career was portrayed by Sterling K. Brown in the Emmy-winning series The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.
