Chelsea Bodie and Caitlin Slavens

Chelsea Bodie and Caitlin Slavens are Registered Psychologists, authors, speakers, clinical supervisors, and the co-owners and Clinical Directors of Couples to Cradles Counseling in Alberta, Canada. Together, they bring years of clinical experience supporting women, children, parents, and families through the complex, and often less talked about, parts of mental health and family life.

Bodie and Slavens are the co-authors of "Not Your Mother’s Postpartum Book," a candid and evidence-informed guide to the emotional realities of the postpartum period. Their work is grounded in a shared passion for making psychological information accessible, practical, and relevant to real life.

Slavens specializes in maternal mental health, trauma, parenting, and child and adolescent therapy. Her clinical background includes trauma-informed, somatic, EMDR, and play-based approaches, as well as extensive experience supporting families and individuals through periods of crisis, transition, and emotional overwhelm.

Bodie’s areas of clinical interest include perinatal and maternal mental health, parenting, child and adolescent psychology, and women’s emotional well-being. Her work also extends to complex separation and divorce, with additional training in mediation, parent coordination, and supporting families navigating high-conflict family transitions. She is currently completing her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD), with doctoral research focused on how mental health professionals support parent–infant bonding among families experiencing perinatal mental health concerns in rural communities.

As clinical supervisors, Bodie and Slavens are also committed to supporting the development of emerging mental health professionals and strengthening thoughtful, ethical, and effective clinical practice.
