Charlot Magayi

Charlot Magayi is the founder and CEO of Mukuru Clean Stoves, a social enterprise focused on providing affordable, clean-burning cookstoves to low-income households in Kenya and other regions. Drawing from her personal experience with the risks of traditional cooking methods, Magayi established the company to address health and environmental hazards caused by indoor air pollution from open-fire cooking. Under her leadership, Mukuru Clean Stoves has distributed thousands of stoves, reducing toxic smoke exposure for women and children and advancing sustainable energy solutions.

Magayi’s work has received international recognition, including the Earthshot Prize, which acknowledged her approach to addressing air pollution and public health. She is regularly invited to speak at global forums, sharing insights on social entrepreneurship, clean energy access, and the empowerment of women in underserved communities.
