Charlie Morrison is the newly appointed CEO of Jersey Mike’s Subs, bringing over three decades of leadership experience in the restaurant industry to the role. He officially took the helm on April 28, 2025, succeeding founder Peter Cancro, who led the company for 50 years and remains chairman of the board.
Morrison is best known for his transformative tenure at Wingstop, where he served as chairman and CEO from 2012 to 2022. Under his leadership, Wingstop expanded from fewer than 500 locations to over 1,500 and successfully went public in 2015. Most recently, he led Salad and Go, a drive-thru salad chain backed by Volt Investment Holdings.
At Jersey Mike’s, Morrison steps in during a pivotal growth phase. The brand, now owned by private equity firm Blackstone following an $8 billion acquisition, operates more than 3,000 locations and reported $3.7 billion in U.S. sales in 2024—a 12% increase from the previous year. Morrison aims to accelerate expansion, particularly in international markets, and continue investing in technology and digital transformation.
