Catherine MacGregor

Catherine MacGregor became the CEO of French energy company ENGIE in January 2021. At the time, she was the only female CEO in France's CAC-40 stock index, and French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has called it "regrettable" that there are not more women alongside her. She is also on the board of ENGIE, as well as on the board at Microsoft.

Before joining ENGIE, MacGregor led the Technip Energies entity of the oil services sector company TechnipFMC between 2019 and 2020. Earlier in her career, she spent 23 years at Schlumberger, the world's leading provider of reservoir identification, drilling and production technologies for the oil and gas industry.

MacGregor has spent her entire professional career working in the energy sector, including 23 years with Schlumberger, the world’s leading supplier of technologies for characterizing, drilling, producing and processing reservoirs for the oil and gas sector.

A graduate of the Paris École Centrale (CentraleSupélec), MacGregor has spent her entire career in the energy sector. In particular, she has managed numerous major complex industrial projects, both in France and abroad. She has had a number of roles with Schlumberger: operations engineer in the Republic of Congo, Scotland and the US; manager in charge of drilling and measuring operations in the Malaysia, Philippines and Brunei region; Group Executive Vice President in charge of human resources, and head of a number of the Group's various entities (Europe & Africa, drilling, etc.). Then from 2019 to 2020, she worked for TechnipFMC, the oil and gas services supplier, as head of Technip Energies.
