Caroline Harvey

Caroline Harvey is a professional ice hockey defenseman who plays for the Vancouver Goldeneyes of the Professional Women's Hockey League and is a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. Harvey began playing ice hockey at age 3 and expressed her goal of joining the U.S. Olympic Team in women's ice hockey at an early age, a milestone she later achieved.

Harvey made her Olympic debut at the Winter Olympics in Beijing at age 19, earning a silver medal as the youngest player on Team USA's roster. Following the Olympics, United States head coach John Wroblewski encouraged Harvey to play aggressively, which contributed to her development as a key player. Harvey later contributed to a gold medal win at the Olympic Games in Milan, recording nine points and earning recognition as best defender and MVP. Internationally, she has secured two World Championship gold medals and three silver medals, and has been selected to three World Championship All-Star teams.

Harvey was named Best Defenseman at multiple World Championships and became only the second defenseman in history to lead the United States in points at an Olympics or World Championship. At the IIHF Women's World Championship, Harvey led the tournament in scoring with four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in seven games. She was named IIHF Female Player of the Year.

During her college career at the University of Wisconsin, Harvey was a three-time NCAA national champion and set several program records for defensemen. In her junior season, she recorded 63 points, the most by a defenseman in a single season in Wisconsin history, and became the program's all-time leading scorer among defensemen with 137 career points. She became the third defenseman to win the Patty Kazmaier Award, joining Angela Ruggiero and Sophie Jaques. Harvey was also named Western Collegiate Hockey Association Defender of the Year three times. She completed her college career with 54 goals and 201 points in 147 games, including consecutive 60-point seasons.

Within a span of 31 days, Harvey won an Olympic gold medal and Olympic MVP with Team USA, her third national championship with the Wisconsin Badgers, and the Patty Kazmaier Award as the nation's top player in women's college hockey. She was then selected first overall by the Vancouver Goldeneyes in the Professional Women's Hockey League entry draft. Harvey's career includes Olympic achievements, record-setting collegiate performance, and individual honors at every level, establishing her as a prominent figure in women's ice hockey.
