Carol Fulp

Carol Fulp is a nationally recognized authority on diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a career spanning corporate leadership, nonprofit management, and diplomatic service. As CEO of Fulp Diversity LLC, a consulting firm dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within organizations, Fulp provides expertise to executives and institutions seeking to build more inclusive cultures. Before founding her firm, Fulp held executive positions at John Hancock Financial, WCVB-TV (Boston's ABC affiliate), and the Gillette Company, developing a broad foundation in corporate responsibility, brand management, and human resources. At John Hancock, she led the company's brand management and philanthropic activities and later served as president and CEO of the Partnership, Inc., a nonprofit focused on attracting and retaining professionals of color in New England's business community. Under Fulp's leadership, the Partnership collaborated with more than 300 corporations and supported over 4,000 multicultural executives and professionals through its leadership development programs.

President Barack Obama appointed Fulp to represent the United States at the 65th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which addressed global governance, tolerance, diversity, and conflict resolution. Her experience at the United Nations reinforced her commitment to creating ethnically and gender-diverse environments, emphasizing that diversity is a strategic imperative for organizations in a rapidly changing world.

Fulp is the author of "Success Through Diversity: Why The Most Inclusive Companies Will Win," recognized by Publishers Weekly, World Economic Forum, and Freedom Institute Forum. In the book, Fulp explores staffing trends in the United States and provides a blueprint for businesses to maintain competitiveness, using case histories from organizations such as the NFL, Eastern Bank, John Hancock, Hallmark Health, and PepsiCo to illustrate the value of diverse workforces. More than 100 organizations have engaged Fulp for book forums and consulting services, including Microsoft Headquarters, McKinsey, CVS, Liberty Mutual, PBS, Boston Red Sox, UPS, Ernst & Young, Novartis, and Harvard University. She also delivers an Inclusive Leadership Forum Series at Boston College Graduate School of Business.

Fulp is co-founder of The Race & Gender Project, advancing inclusion and belonging in organizations. She is a founding co-chair of the Massachusetts Conference for Women, the largest professional women's conference in the country, attracting more than 17,000 attendees annually. Her board service includes the Board of Advisors for Eastern Bank, vice chair of the board of the American Student Assistance Corporation, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library Foundation, and vice chair of the Board of Trustees for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Fulp has received honors including the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Bostonian Award, the New England Anti-Defamation League's Woman of Valor Award, and the Museum of African American History's Living Legend Award. The Boston Business Journal has listed Fulp as one of the "50 Most Influential Bostonians" and Boston Magazine named her among the "21 Most Powerful People in Boston Business." She holds honorary doctorates from New England Law Boston, Salem State University, and Suffolk University Sawyer School of Management, where she served as commencement speaker.
