Candice Morgan

Candice Morgan is a technology and venture executive. She is the co-founder of and an investor at BAG Collective. She is board chair at Venture Forward, and also acts as an angel Investor.

Morgan is the first executive appointed to lead equity, diversity, and inclusion in venture capital as partner at GV (Google Ventures) a position she held for five years. Morgan has extensive experience in transforming organizational culture and designing workplaces for the future, focusing on helping companies attract and develop talent and expand customer markets across generations.

As partner at GV, Morgan reports to CEO David Krane and has guided the firm in building an equitable recruitment and talent development strategy, contributing to significant annual growth in the fund’s history. She has also established multimillion-dollar partnerships with equity-focused organizations and other firms within the venture capital ecosystem. Morgan collaborates closely with the investing team to increase the diversity of entrepreneurs funded by GV; during her tenure, GV increased funding to underrepresented founders by more than 50 percent, resulting in over $250 million deployed to companies led by women and ethnic minorities in the technology sector. She has advised numerous startup CEOs and executives on talent and customer engagement, as well as recruiting diverse board members.

Before joining GV, Morgan was the first head of diversity at Pinterest, where she played a key role in transforming the company as it grew from a high-growth private startup to a public company with more than 300 million global users and a sixfold increase in employees. Morgan led strategies to increase underrepresented talent from less than 3 percent to 10 percent and implemented inclusive product management initiatives to expand diverse content and connect underrepresented users and influencers on the platform. Prior to her work in the technology industry, Morgan was a management consultant at Catalyst, a consulting and research firm specializing in women in leadership, where she advised CEO and leadership teams at Fortune 500 companies in the United States and Europe. Her clients included RBC, Deutsche Bank, The Coca-Cola Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Nestlé.

Morgan’s expertise in organizational change management, inclusive products and services, market growth, talent risk management, and ESG strategies has earned her recognition from Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business, The Root’s Most Influential African Americans, International House’s Young Leadership Award, and Carnegie Mellon University’s Tartans on the Rise list. She serves as a board director for Women Who Code and is a steering committee member of BLCK VC. Morgan is a frequent speaker and advisor, with published work in Harvard Business Review, Forbes, and GV’s newsroom. She is recognized for her leadership in venture capital and diversity, equity, and inclusion, and is a keynote speaker at industry conferences focused on technology, entrepreneurship, and inclusive innovation.
