Caeleb Dressel

Caeleb Dressel is an American swimmer specializing in the freestyle and butterfly sprint events. He currently represents the Cali Condors, a team in the International Swimming League. Dressel's accolades include seven gold medals at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest and a record-breaking eight medals, six of which were gold, at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju. Additionally, he has won a total of 31 medals in major championships, including 7 gold medals at the Olympic Games, 15 gold medals at the World Championships (LC), and 6 gold medals at the World Championships (SC). He also achieved 2 gold medals at the Pan Pacific Championships and a gold medal at the World Junior Championships.

Dressel has multiple world records to his name in both long and short course swimming, specifically in the 100 meter butterfly (both long course and short course), 50 meter freestyle (short course), and 100 meter individual medley (short course). He has also set multiple American records in various swimming events. Previously, Dressel swam for the Gator Swim Club and the University of Florida, under the guidance of coaches Anthony Nesty, Steve Jungbluth, and Gregg Troy.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Dressel won a remarkable five gold medals, making him the fifth American to achieve this feat within the last 50 years. The other four include Mark Spitz, Michael Phelps, Eric Heiden, and Matt Biondi. In a historic first, Dressel won gold in the 50-meter freestyle, the 100-meter freestyle, and the 100-meter butterfly at the same Olympics.
