Bryan Alexander

Bryan Alexander is a futurist, researcher, writer, speaker, consultant, and teacher specializing in the impact of technology on education. Alexander holds a doctorate in English language and literature from the University of Michigan, with a dissertation focused on doppelgangers in Romantic-era fiction and poetry. At Centenary College of Louisiana, he taught literature, writing, multimedia, and information technology studies, and developed interdisciplinary classes and an information literacy initiative.

Alexander worked with the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education, serving as co-director of a regional education and technology center and director of emerging technologies. He later founded Bryan Alexander Consulting, LLC, providing consulting services to higher education institutions in the United States and internationally.

Alexander's articles have appeared in The Atlantic Monthly and Inside Higher Ed. He has been interviewed by and featured in media outlets including MSNBC, US News and World Report, National Public Radio, and the Chronicle of Higher Education. His publications include "Academia Next: The Futures of Higher Education," which received an Association of Professional Futurists Award, and "Universities on Fire: Higher Education in the Age of Climate Crisis." Alexander's work continues to examine the evolving relationship between technology and higher education.
