Brady Tkachuk is an American-Canadian professional ice hockey left winger known for his physical style of play and offensive production in the National Hockey League. Selected by the Ottawa Senators as the fourth overall pick in the NHL Entry Draft, Tkachuk spent eight seasons with the organization and served as captain for part of his tenure. Prior to his professional career, Tkachuk played for the Boston University Terriers, earning All-Hockey East Rookie Team honors. Leading up to the draft, he was ranked second among North American skaters by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau.
Tkachuk finished his rookie NHL season with 22 goals, the second-highest among league rookies. He signed a seven-year contract with the Senators and became the 10th captain in franchise history. During his time in Ottawa, Tkachuk reached 20 goals in seven of his eight NHL campaigns, recorded three consecutive seasons with at least 30 goals, and led the team in hits in six seasons. In one season, he posted a career-high 37 goals and 37 assists for 74 points in 81 games, while leading the NHL with 294 hits—the most ever by a player scoring 30 or more goals in a season. Over his career, Tkachuk ranks second among all skaters in penalties drawn.
A multi-time NHL All-Star, Tkachuk earned a spot on the NHL All-Rookie Team and has participated in several NHL All-Star Games. Off the ice, he has been involved with charitable organizations, including the Do It For Daron Foundation and mental health initiatives, and established the Tkachuk's Captains foundation with the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa to provide support and mentorship to children. These efforts have led to nominations for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, which recognizes leadership and humanitarian contributions in the NHL.
Internationally, Tkachuk captained the United States under-18 national team to a gold medal at the World U18 Championships and was part of the United States junior team that won bronze at the World Junior Championships. He and his brother Matthew played together for USA Hockey at the 4 Nations Face-Off, earning silver, and at the Milan Cortina Olympics, where they won gold.
Tkachuk was traded by the Senators to the Florida Panthers, joining his brother Matthew on a Stanley Cup championship team. He brings 463 points (213 goals, 250 assists) in 572 regular-season games to his new club. Outside of hockey, Tkachuk co-hosts the "Wingmen" podcast with his brother. Tkachuk is recognized for his physicality, consistent scoring, leadership, and international success in professional ice hockey.
