Bill McInturff

Bill McInturff is a partner and co-founder of Public Opinion Strategies, a national political and public affairs survey research firm described as the leading Republican polling company by The New York Times. Since its founding, the firm has completed more than five million interviews with voters and consumers in all 50 states and over a dozen foreign countries, and has conducted more than 3,500 focus groups. Public Opinion Strategies has been called a GOP powerhouse and represents seven governors, 11 U.S. senators, and 50 members of Congress.

Over a career spanning more than 30 years in political and public affairs research and more than 5,000 projects, McInturff has focused on combat message development—developing messages to defend and promote client interests on complex public policy issues, rather than simply monitoring public opinion. Much of his work has centered on health care. His projects include testing the Harry and Louise commercials that ran against the Clinton health care plan. McInturff also served as the lead pollster for John McCain in his bid for the office of United States president.

Along with Peter D. Hart, McInturff has served as the lead pollster for the NBC News/Wall Street Journal polling series. He has appeared frequently on "Meet the Press" and "MTP NOW," and is quoted in a variety of national news magazines and major newspapers. His media presence underscores his role as an authority on American political research, public opinion, and campaign strategy.
