Benjamin Gilmour is the awarding-winning writer / director of the film Jirga, Australia’s official entry to the 91st Academy Awards, a feature he shot entirely in Afghanistan.
He has intimate knowledge of Afghanistan, its people and culture and politics. He has recently met with senior Taliban officials on a visit to Afghanistan since the fall of Kabul for another project. He speaks about war crimes of foreign forces and the impact this had on the war’s outcome.
As a former paramedic who has written extensively on paramedics around the world retrained in psychedelic therapy and the treatment of veterans and first responders with PTSD.
