Ben Leventhal is an entrepreneur and hospitality technology pioneer best known as the co-founder of Eater, Resy, and Blackbird. He began his career in digital media, co-founding Eater in 2005 and helping transform the way people discovered and talked about restaurants. Eater was acquired by Vox Media in 2013.
In 2014, Leventhal co-founded Resy, serving as CEO and building the company into a leading restaurant reservation and hospitality technology platform. American Express acquired Resy in 2019, incorporating it into its global dining strategy.
Leventhal founded Blackbird in 2022 to tackle another challenge in the restaurant industry: building deeper, more valuable relationships between restaurants and their loyal customers. Blackbird combines payments, loyalty, membership, and technology to help restaurants better understand and reward their guests.
Across his ventures, Leventhal has consistently operated at the intersection of restaurants, technology, media, and consumer behavior, helping reshape how diners discover restaurants, make reservations, and engage with their favorite places.
