Ben Cohen Biography
Ben Cohen, a former England rugby star and World Cup winner, rose to prominence with Northampton Saints, helping them lift the Heineken Cup in 2000. Clinically deaf, Cohen became known for his speed and try-scoring ability, earning 31 tries in 57 appearances for England and touring with the British & Irish Lions in 2001. He played a key role in England’s 2003 World Cup triumph and was awarded an MBE.
At club level, Cohen played for Brive in France before returning to the Premiership with Sale Sharks, where he was named Player of the Season in 2011 before retiring at age 32. Off the field, he became a popular media personality, appearing on "Strictly Come Dancing" and winning "The Jump".
Passionate about advocacy, Cohen founded the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation, the world’s first anti-bullying organization focused especially on LGBTQ+ inclusion. A sought-after speaker, he shares powerful messages on respect, equality, and resilience, shaped by his personal experience, including the tragic loss of his father, who died while defending someone from an attack.
