Andrew Sansom

Dr. Andrew Sansom is a prominent Texas conservationist, author, and academic, known for his lifelong dedication to protecting the natural resources and public lands of Texas. He currently serves as the Executive Director of The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University, where he is also a Research Professor of Geography.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Sansom has held leadership roles that have shaped environmental policy and preservation efforts in the state. He previously served as Executive Director of both the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the Texas chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Under his guidance, hundreds of thousands of acres of Texas land were secured for conservation and public enjoyment.
