Andrew Arboe

Andrew Arboe is an autistic self-advocate, public speaker, and educator focused on supporting autistic individuals and the communities that serve them. Arboe created the brand "Andrew Arboe: Autistic Self Advocate and Speaker" to provide resources and presentations for schools, providers, and organizations in the autism and disability sectors. His professional experience includes work in public and private schools, nonprofits, and online programs, and he holds Autism Certification from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards.

Arboe is recognized for public speaking engagements throughout New England, including serving as a keynote speaker for the Autism Connections conference in Springfield, Massachusetts. His presentations have reached organizations such as the Arc of Massachusetts and the Association of Autism and Neurodiversity, addressing topics like special education, transportation, transition to adulthood, and employment for autistic individuals. He has also spoken for YAI: Seeing Beyond Disability, Autism Services & Resources Connecticut, and the US Autism Association. Arboe has been featured on Autism Speaks' "Just Another Autism Podcast," where he discussed driving and employment for autistic individuals, offering practical advice for independence and adulthood.

A significant focus of Arboe's advocacy is the intersection of autism and driving. His personal experience learning to drive with limited resources led him to develop projects that address driver readiness for neurodiverse individuals. He founded the online program "Driving with Autism," which provides webinars for neurodiverse drivers, and created the Autism and Driving Resource Database, a comprehensive resource covering driving schools, adaptive programs, and related services across all 50 states. Arboe also offers virtual consultations for individuals and families on establishing driver routines.

Arboe's professional roles include positions at FOCUS Center for Autism, Anderson Center for Autism, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. At Anderson Center for Autism, he serves as an ECHO Autism team member and Consultation Training Associate. He is also a board member of the Neurodiversity Employment Network and Disability Rights Connecticut. Arboe holds an associate degree as a disability specialist from Manchester Community College and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Charter Oak State College. Through his work as a speaker, consultant, and advocate, Arboe provides resources and guidance for the autism community nationwide.
