Alyssa London

Alyssa London is a Tlingit storyteller, journalist, creative entrepreneur, and author whose work explores identity, culture, and belonging. London is an enrolled citizen of the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska and a member of the Ketchikan Indian Community. Her Tlingit name is Yáx̱ Ádi Yádi, meaning precious child, given to her by the late tribal leader Clarence Jackson. A graduate of Stanford University, London is a business entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and media personality with a focus on Indigenous culture, art, and economic development.

After graduating from Stanford, London worked in the technology industry in marketing and sales roles, including at Microsoft, before transitioning to a mission-driven media career. She is the founder and CEO of Culture Story, a creative studio and media platform producing journalism, documentary, and narrative work across multiple formats and genres. London hosted "Native America Calling," a live call-in program broadcast on public, community, and tribal radio stations in the United States and Canada, and produced her YouTube series "Culture Story," traveling throughout Indian Country to interview Indigenous people about their food traditions, artwork, celebrations, and lives. Episodes of "Culture Story" have aired on FNX (First Nations Experience), a PBS-affiliated network.

London was the first Native contributor to NBC News and MSNBC and hosted "The Culture Is: Indigenous Women" special, which streamed on Peacock. She is also an executive coach, helping leaders refine their messaging, media presence, and communication strategies with authenticity.

London was the first Tlingit Miss Alaska USA and a top 10 finalist at Miss USA, representing Alaska Native culture on a national stage. At the Miss USA pageant, she wore a gown inspired by a Tlingit robe displaying her clan crest. Sealaska Heritage Institute named London a cultural ambassador to support its mission of perpetuating and enhancing Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian cultures and promoting cross-cultural understanding. After winning Miss Alaska USA, London worked as a cultural spokesperson for the Sealaska Heritage Institute, traveling across Alaska for speaking engagements and hosting Native events, which led to her career as a broadcaster, media host, and executive communications coach.

London is the author of "Journey of the Freckled Indian" and has additional books with HarperCollins and Bloomsbury Publishing. Her children's book series shares a message of belief and pride in oneself and one's culture, following the Freckled Indian—a young girl who grows up in both suburban Western America and Native American culture, reflecting London's own journey of understanding her heritage. London is an award-winning member of the Native American Journalists Association and serves on the board of directors of the Indigenous Journalists Association, where she contributes to the advancement of Indigenous journalism. Across national television, publishing, and public speaking, London is recognized for her work in Indigenous visibility, cultural preservation, and authentic storytelling.
