Alexander Torrenegra

Alexander Torrenegra is a Colombian-American entrepreneur, inventor, and investor with a career spanning more than three decades in technology innovation and company building. Torrenegra is the founder and CEO of Torre and has established multiple companies, including Voice123 and Bunny Studio. His entrepreneurial journey began at age 14 with the founding of Apache A-X Cybernetic Enterprises Limited. He graduated from Miami Dade College with a degree in computer science and participated in the Stanford University Leadership Program.

Torrenegra co-founded Voice123, recognized as the first global marketplace for voice-overs, connecting voice actors and buyers worldwide. Voice123 introduced the concept of reverse auctions to the voiceover industry and achieved significant growth in registered users and sales. Building on this foundation, Torrenegra and collaborators launched Bunny Studio, beginning with VoiceBunny, an API for professional human voices. Both Voice123 and Bunny Studio were bootstrapped to substantial revenue milestones.

Focusing on the future of work, Torrenegra founded Torre, a global work-matching network designed to automate and increase transparency in recruitment and job hunting through artificial intelligence. Torre's platform connects millions of professionals and has been awarded patents for recruitment process automation. Torrenegra holds multiple patents related to job marketplace dynamics.

Torrenegra has received recognition from institutions such as MIT Technology Review, which named him TR35 Top Colombian Innovator of the Year, and the World Economic Forum, which selected him as a Young Global Leader. He has also been recognized as a High-Impact Entrepreneur by Endeavor. Torrenegra was part of a delegation of immigrant entrepreneurs who met with President Barack Obama. In addition to founding and scaling businesses, he has invested in more than 20 technology companies, including early support for Platzi, an online education platform for technology and creative skills, and Rappi, an on-demand delivery startup.

Torrenegra is known in the entrepreneurial community for his role as an investor on Shark Tank Colombia and as a guest on Shark Tank Mexico. He is an advocate for remote work and has led remote teams since the founding of Voice123. His book, "Remoter: The Why-and-How Guide to Building Successful Remote Teams," documents his experiences and insights on distributed workforces. Torrenegra frequently speaks on topics such as AI-driven hiring, distributed teams, and building technology companies.
