Alexander Mattison

Alexander Mattison is a professional NFL running back known for his versatility and durability across multiple franchises. Mattison played college football for the Boise State Broncos, where he became the first Boise State player to claim a Mountain West rushing title, leading the conference and ranking among the top 10 nationally in both rushing yards and touchdowns. He concluded his collegiate career as the Offensive MVP of the Mountain West Conference Football Championship Game after a 200-yard, one-touchdown performance.

Mattison was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round of the NFL Draft. During his five seasons with the Vikings, he established himself as a reliable back, contributing both as a runner and in the passing game, particularly in pass protection. In a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, Mattison recorded his first professional game with at least 100 rushing yards, finishing with 20 carries for 112 yards. Over his tenure with Minnesota, he was called upon for more than 226 pass-blocking reps, allowing just seven pressures, according to Pro Football Focus.

After his time with the Vikings, Mattison joined the Las Vegas Raiders, taking on a lead role in the backfield. He made an impact with his physical running style, including a notable 31-yard touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mattison later signed with the Miami Dolphins, continuing his NFL career. Across 89 games, he has accumulated 716 rushing attempts and 2,790 rushing yards.

Off the field, Mattison is an advocate for mental health and community empowerment. He founded the I AM GIFTED organization, providing mental health and educational resources to youth in San Bernardino, California; Boise, Idaho; and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Inspired by his own experiences, Mattison has partnered with the Athletes For Life Foundation to offer free I AM GIFTED youth football camps, which include combines for high schoolers and workshops on financial literacy and mental health awareness. His charitable efforts have been recognized with multiple NFLPA Community MVP honors, including for hosting a back-to-school event for 250 children in Minnesota and for supporting families in need through his foundation. Mattison regularly donates scholarships to programs in the San Bernardino/Inland Empire area, supporting students at his high school alma mater.
