Alex Honnold

Alex Honnold, renowned for his daring climbing feats, first made his mark by being the first person to free solo El Capitan, a notorious route in Yosemite National Park. His groundbreaking climb on June 3, 2017, was later immortalized in the Academy Award and BAFTA-winning documentary "Free Solo". Honnold's thirst for challenge didn't stop there. In 2015, alongside Tommy Caldwell, he received the Piolet d'Or for their Fitz Traverse of the Cerro Chaltén Group in Patagonia. They continued to push boundaries in 2018, setting a speed record for climbing The Nose of El Capitan in under two hours.

He founded the Honnold Foundation, which supports solar energy projects to increase energy access globally, reflecting his commitment to environmental conservation.
