Alejandra Rios

Alejandra Ríos Spínola is a business leader in Mexico, combining executive management in the culinary and events industry with experience as an investor and television personality. Born into a family with longstanding ties to Mexico City's restaurant sector, Ríos Spínola pursued a B.A. in financial management from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and an MBA from Harvard Business School before joining the family business. Prior to her leadership at Grupo Ambrosía, she worked as a financial analyst at companies including Starbucks and Alsea, gaining experience in investment banking and international financial planning.

As executive president of Grupo Ambrosía, a Mexico City-based company specializing in culinary experiences, corporate catering, and event production, Ríos Spínola joined as director of Ambrosía Corporativo before becoming CEO. She led operational modernization efforts, strengthened the company’s market position during challenging periods, and expanded its services and brand presence. Her work has contributed to the growth of business units such as Ambrosía, Ambrosía Centro Culinario, and BOK Ludoteca, establishing the company as a prominent name in Mexico’s gastronomy and events sector.

In addition to her corporate role, Ríos Spínola is recognized for her participation as an investor on "Shark Tank México," where she evaluates and supports new business ventures. She has invested in more than 25 startups through the show, contributing to the development of entrepreneurship in Mexico. Ríos Spínola is also the founder of Meraki Ventures, an investment fund, and has participated in venture capital initiatives including Amplifica and 500 Startups, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in Latin America.

Ríos Spínola received the One Young World Entrepreneur of the Year Award, selected by an international panel for her social impact and leadership. As one of the few openly LGBTQ+ business leaders with mainstream visibility in Latin America, she advocates for equality, representation, and authenticity in leadership. She is a frequent speaker on topics such as diversity, inclusion, women in business, and leadership, engaging audiences across industries.
