Abbi Jacobson

Abbi Jacobson is a comedian, actress, writer, producer, and illustrator known for her work in television, film, animation, literature, and podcasting. Jacobson studied at Maryland Institute College of Art before developing her comedic skills at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. Seeking more opportunities for women in comedy, Jacobson partnered with Ilana Glazer to create the web series "Broad City," which was later adapted into a Comedy Central series with Amy Poehler as executive producer. The show received critical acclaim, a Peabody Award, and a Writers Guild of America nomination for Best Comedy Series, recognized for its portrayal of female friendship and urban life.

Jacobson co-created, executive produced, and starred in the Amazon Prime series "A League of Their Own," an adaptation centered on the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. She played Carson Shaw, a baseball player navigating the challenges of a pioneering women's league. Jacobson's television work also includes roles in the Netflix series "No Good Deed" and the TV mini-series "Interior Chinatown."

In animation, Jacobson has voiced Princess Bean in "Disenchantment," Katie Mitchell in the Academy Award-nominated film "The Mitchells vs. the Machines," and Nya in "The Lego Ninjago Movie." As an author, Jacobson wrote the essay collection "I Might Regret This," published by Grand Central Publishing and recognized as a New York Times Best Seller, as well as the illustrated humor book "Carry This Book," which also appeared on the New York Times bestseller list. Jacobson hosted the podcast "A Piece of Work," produced with The Museum of Modern Art and WNYC Studios, exploring topics in modern and contemporary art.
