From the podium he provides audiences with a fascinating “boots on the ground” examination of global business, the war on terror, and U.S. politics in the Middle East.
Robert was a case officer in the CIA’s Directorate of Operations from 1976 to 1997, during which time he ran covert ops and chased down suspected terrorists in hotspots throughout the Middle East, including Iraq, Rabat, Beirut, Khartoum, and New Delhi. For his service he has been honored with the Career Intelligence Medal and countless other commendations. Since leaving the Agency Robert has written two nonfiction bestsellers, See No Evil and Sleeping with the Devil: How Washington Sold Our Soul for Saudi Crude, as well as a first novel, Blow the House Down.
