Biography of Bob Saget

In the past ten years, he has broadened his image to include a more 'adult'audience-- through his live performing, television, and film work.

This past year, Bob wrote, directed, and produced (with David Permut) the hugely successful DVD release, “Farce of the Penguins,” an R-rated live action comedy, made entirely of stock documentary footage. 'Farce' is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, and stars the voiceover talents of Lewis Black, Mo’Nique, Tracy Morgan, Christina Applegate and himself. The film also features scores of guest appearances by some of the biggest and funniest names in comedy.It was released by THINKFilm and Lions Gate Films on January 30,2007, and has sold incredibly well, especially with the college audiences. Currently, Bob is shooting new episodes of the hit NBC quiz show "1 vs. 100," from the producers of "Deal or No Deal." In this series, Bob works without a script, adlibbing through the hour format, with people try to answer trivia questions to win one million
dollars. During its first season, the show consistently delivered the network's best performance in its time slot in many years.

Saget directed the college cult favorite feature film “Dirty Work,” and also helmed and executive produced the powerful telefilm “For Hope,”which starred Dana Delany in a story loosely based on the life and struggle of his sister, Gay, who passed away in 1994 from scleroderma. He continues to work on behalf of scleroderma research and awareness, serving as an active member of the Board of Directors of the Scleroderma Research Foundation, for which he hosts and co-produces three major fundraising events every 18 months in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, the organization’s base city.

His other credits include starring in the hit critically acclaimed Off-Broadway play, “Privilege,” written by Paul Weitz (“In Good Company”) and directed by Peter Askin (“Hedwig and the Angry Inch”) as well as appearing in the acclaimed comedy documentary film, “The Aristocrats,” earning rave reviews from The New York Times, New York Observer and Newsweek. He just recently guest starred on “Law & Order: SVU,” playing the murderer, a passiveaggressive computer programmer. He has poked fun at his selfimage on the HBO Comedy “Entourage,” guest-starred on Showtime’s series “Huff,” and has a hit music video from MTV, “Rollin’ With Saget,” which he stars with his friends, Jamie Kennedy and Stu Stone. The video has had millions of hits on the web and just recently won the FUSE TV Award.

Bob remains committed to his career as a standup comedian, and throughout this year has been on a sold-out tour, headlining concert halls and colleges across America. His packed-housed audiences all grew up watching him, and love to see his adult stand-up, which completely blows up his TV images of past as well as leaving them rolling in the aisles. Television audiences will soon be able to share this experience when his HBO special "That Ain't Right " premieres on HBO August 25th. The special is also released to DVD August 28th.

In addition to being an active member on the Board of Directors of the Scleroderma Research Foundation, Bob is also an "Ambassador" for the Starlight/Starbright Children’s Foundation. He resides in Los Angeles and is the extremely proud father of three daughters.
