Free Chapel has two campuses located in Gainesville, Georgia and Orange County, California and is one of the fastest growing churches in America with over 15,000 in attendance weekly. Senior Pastor, Jentezen Franklin, through his experience as a pastor, teacher, author and musician, seeks to help people encounter God through inspired worship and relevant application of God’s word in their daily lives. Being an avid saxophone player and worshipper himself, it was from his experiences that the Free Chapel Music Ministry was born. The vision is to build an army of people who have been gifted by God with musical abilities that can be used corporately to build the Kingdom of God around the world. Currently overseeing the worship ministry at the coast-to-coast campuses is Micah Massey at the Gainesville location and Adam Ranney in Orange County.
For the past five years, Free Chapel has been creating powerful worship experiences that usher listeners into the presence of God. Their first album was released in July of 2007. Birthed after the church’s annual 21-day fast, the album Moving Forward brought forth empowering songs like “Moving Forward” and “Awesome God”. Just two years later, Power of the Cross was released with hits like “A Thousand Miles” and the title track “Power of the Cross”, making an impact in churches around the globe. Echo, the latest worship album released in November of 2011, marks yet another exciting moment in worship music history for the Free Chapel Music Ministry. Featuring Pastor Jentezen Franklin and Grammy Award winner Israel Houghton, the album offers listeners a complete worship experience. The church’s first independent project underneath it’s record label, Free Chapel Records, was recorded in front of 12,000 students and leaders at the 2011 Forward Conference. Echo captures the essence of vibrant and intimate worship within a conference atmosphere. Israel Houghton said, “[Echo is] easily hands down one of the best, most impacting live CD projects I’ve ever had the privilege of participating in and producing.” Free Chapel has branded their “sound” with the ability to reach all age groups and diverse cultures. There is a perfect balance of modern, contemporary tracks like “Echo”, “All Things New” and “Rez Power”, moving worship like “Your Presence is Heaven”, and even a classic hymn, “Amazing Grace”, during “Speechless”, which was written after a sermon Jentezen Franklin gave called Speechless Grace. The last song that was written for the project, “Jesus at the Center”, has turned out to be one of the most impacting and influential songs on the album. Stories come in weekly of how churches and worship teams across the globe are getting their focus back to putting Jesus at the Center. Pastor Franklin said, “The LIVE recording of Echo allows you to be consumed by His presence as if you were there. May you be blessed beyond measure by this recording and draw nearer to Him. Let it ‘Echo through the Ages’!”
