Zoisa North-Bond

Zoisa North-Bond is an executive in the global clean energy sector, serving as CEO of three divisions within Octopus Energy Group: Octopus Energy Generation, Octopus Energy for Business, and Octopus Electroverse. North-Bond leads efforts to expand renewable energy and connect affordable, clean power with communities and businesses worldwide.

Through its generation arm, Octopus oversees nearly 5 GW of renewable energy projects across 21 countries, valued at £7 billion, positioning the company as a significant investor in European renewable energy. North-Bond’s entry into the energy industry followed a decade in public relations, after which she transitioned to communications for an energy client developing an offshore wind farm and subsequently managed that company. Before joining Octopus Energy, North-Bond served as UK managing director of Dutch utility Eneco B.V., where she contributed to the growth of the UK’s renewable asset portfolio, including more than 250 MW of wind and solar projects.

At Octopus, North-Bond has played a key role in developing consumer-focused energy innovations. Her leadership has driven initiatives such as the "Fan Club" tariff, which offers discounted energy to residents near wind turbines, and "Winder," a matchmaking platform connecting wind-enthusiastic communities with landowners to identify optimal turbine locations and ease grid stress. She also established the Collective, the UK’s first regulated retail investment platform for clean energy projects. North-Bond is the co-founder of Octopus Electroverse, Europe’s largest public EV charging network with 1 million users, and leads Octopus Energy for Business, which supplies 100% carbon-free energy to 120,000 customers, including SMEs and global brands such as Arsenal FC.

North-Bond has also focused on expanding renewable energy in Africa. Under her management, Octopus launched the Octopus Power Africa Initiative to mobilize $450 million in clean energy investment across Sub-Saharan Africa and is developing Sierra Leone’s first wind farm in partnership with Akuna Group. North-Bond serves as a director of the Octopus Energy Diversity Foundation, co-created the Africa Energy Entrepreneurship Award with the King’s Sustainable Markets Initiative, and has been appointed to the Global Citizen Europe Board, supporting efforts to address health, hunger, and climate change. Octopus Energy Generation has also joined the Scaling Up Renewables in Africa campaign alongside the European Commission, the Republic of South Africa, and Global Citizen.

North-Bond’s career bridges storytelling, technology, and sustainability.
