Zibby Owens

Zibby Owens is the founder of Zibby Media which includes the award-winning podcast Totally Booked with Zibby, Zibby Publishing, Zibby’s Bookshop in Santa Monica CA and New York, plus a book club, retreats, events, and a membership program. Zibby is the author of six books, including the USA Today bestsellers “Blank: A Novel” and “On Being Jewish Now: Reflections from Authors and Advocates”. Her other books include “Bookends: A Memoir of Love, Loss, and Literature,” anthologies “Moms Don’t Have Time to Have Kids” and “Moms Don’t Have Time To,” and the children’s book “Princess Charming”. Her next book is coming out in Fall 2026.

Zibby founded the On Being Jewish Now Substack in response to October 7. Her essays have been published online in the New York Times, Vogue, Oprah.com, and GMA, where she was a Contributor for three years.

Zibby’s hosts a TV show “Totally Booked” on JBS (Jewish Broadcasting Service) which airs Thursdays at 7:30 pm ET. She has been featured on “CBS This Morning,” “The Tamron Hall Show,” “Good Morning America,” and many other outlets, and has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, the New York Post, Hadassah, and others. She wrote the books column for GMA for three years. A frequent speaker, Zibby gives keynotes and moderates talks across the country at companies, book festivals, women’s events, and Jewish institutions.

Zibby was one of the Algemeiner’s “Top 100 People Positively Influencing Jewish Life,” a 92nd Street Y “Extraordinary Woman,” a Girls Write Now Honoree, a Schneps “Power Woman of the East End,” a Jewish Women International’s 2025 “Woman to Watch,” and a Child Mind Advocacy Award recipient. She has also won 30+ podcast honors, including the Webby, Lovie, and Signal Awards, was nominated for an Ambie Award, and will receive the WIN (Women’s Image Awards) Community Activist Honor for her response to the Palisades Fire and one of the “100 Women to KNOW in America” from KNOW Media.

A graduate of Yale University and Harvard Business School, Zibby lives in New York (and sometimes L.A.) with her husband and four children ages 11 to 18.
