Zach Bush

Dr. Zach Bush is a physician, researcher, and internationally recognized speaker whose work focuses on the relationship between human health, the microbiome, food systems, and the natural environment. Trained in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism, and hospice/palliative care, Dr. Bush has built a career exploring how biological systems interact and how modern approaches to medicine and agriculture influence human wellness. Dr. Bush earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and received his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He completed residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Virginia Health System, where he also served as a clinical instructor.

Early in his career, Dr. Bush practiced conventional medicine, specializing in endocrinology and metabolic disorders. Over time, his research and clinical interests expanded toward the role of the microbiome—the complex ecosystem of microorganisms living in and around the human body—and its relationship to immunity, inflammation, metabolism, and overall health.

He is the founder and CEO of the Seraphic Group, an organization focused on developing solutions related to human and ecological health, and he founded Farmer’s Footprint, a nonprofit organization that promotes awareness of regenerative agriculture and the connection between soil health and human health. Through Farmer’s Footprint, Dr. Bush has worked with farmers, educators, scientists, and consumers to encourage agricultural practices that emphasize soil regeneration and reduced dependence on chemical-intensive farming.

Dr. Bush has become a prominent voice in discussions about regenerative medicine, nutrition, and environmental health, appearing in podcasts, documentaries, and educational programs aimed at broad public audiences. His central message is that human health cannot be separated from the health of the ecosystems that sustain life.
