Dr. Yazdan Yazdanpanah is an internationally recognized expert in infectious diseases and global health. He currently serves as the Director of ANRS | Emerging Infectious Diseases, the French Agency for Research on AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, and Emerging Infectious Diseases. He is also a professor of medicine at Paris Diderot University and the Head of the Infectious Diseases Department at Bichat-Claude Bernard Hospital in Paris.
With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Yazdanpanah has contributed significantly to research and public health policy related to HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and pandemic preparedness. He has led major clinical trials and international collaborations, and his expertise was instrumental in France’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Yazdanpanah is a member of the Strategic and Technical Advisory Group for Infectious Hazards (STAG-IH) at the World Health Organization and has served on various European and global task forces addressing infectious disease threats. His work focuses on translating research into actionable strategies to strengthen global health security and ensure equitable access to prevention and treatment.
