Yasin Kasirga

Yasin Kasirga has spent more than 20 years building energy projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, delivering more than 11 GW of capacity and more than 25 wind farms that span gas, renewables, carbon capture and hydrogen. Kasirga leads GE Vernova’s carbon solutions business across the region.

On stage, Kasirga does what most energy talks don’t: he makes the trade-offs, the technology and the leadership behind decarbonization and sustainability clear to everyone in the room, not just the engineers.

A recognized authority in large-scale energy infrastructure, Kasirga has a proven track record of developing and building more than 5 GW of gas-fired power plants and more than 6 GW of renewable energy assets, including hydro, solar, geothermal and more than 25 wind power plants across EMEA. His career is defined by a mastery of the "big picture," having commanded diverse leadership roles within GE encompassing sales, market development and the execution of complex hybrid and renewable energy projects.

In 2023, Kasirga’s expertise was called upon on the global diplomatic stage when he served as a senior energy adviser for the COP28 Presidency while on secondment from GE Vernova in the Office of the UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change. During that tenure, he was a key architect of the historic "Tripling Renewable Energy and Doubling Energy Efficiency" pledge and co-authored the seminal report "Tripling Renewable Power and Doubling Energy Efficiency by 2030." He was also instrumental in advancing the Oil & Gas Decarbonization Charter and the Industrial Decarbonization Alliance.

Prior to his tenure at GE Vernova, Kasirga led multi-sector business development for Alstom and held senior project management roles at Gama Power and Calik Enerji, managing more than $1 billion in EPC contracts for critical power and industrial infrastructure throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Kasirga holds an executive MBA and bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration from Middle East Technical University. He is a graduate of GE’s premier leadership development program, XLP, and remains a committed catalyst for high-performance organizational culture and talent development.
