Yarelbys Tua

Yarelbys Túa is a Venezuelan disability inclusion advocate, content creator, model, and keynote speaker whose personal experiences have shaped her public mission. Diagnosed with bone cancer at age 14, Túa underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery for sarcoma in her rib bones. Following radiation treatment, she developed spinal cord inflammation that led to nerve damage and a mobility disability, requiring the use of a scooter or cane. After her cancer treatment, Túa participated in physical therapy to relearn how to walk, navigating her recovery without a local disabled community or visible role models in media and entertainment.

Túa has focused her career on raising awareness about disability, inclusion, equality, and accessibility. As a bilingual social media manager and content creator, she has built experience cultivating inclusive digital communities and producing content that addresses disability advocacy, gender equity, and the amplification of underrepresented voices. Her storytelling approach has resonated with audiences, establishing her as a credible voice for disability representation in mainstream media.

Túa's modeling career includes work for the adaptive line at JC Penney during New York Fashion Week and a campaign for Tommy Hilfiger Adaptive. She was featured in the Runway of Dreams Foundation's inaugural "Campaign for Inclusion," a project highlighting brands committed to disability inclusion. Through these collaborations, Túa has contributed to shifting the narrative around disability in the fashion industry, demonstrating the importance of adaptive clothing and accessible design.

Beyond modeling, Túa is an advocate for systemic change and a speaker on topics such as ADA compliance, accessible transportation, art and design, cancer survivorship, diversity and inclusion, fashion, and social media. She has participated in initiatives like Transit Alliance Miami's "Week Without Driving" and appeared on the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities All Access Podcast live show. Túa continues to work toward greater inclusion and accessibility, serving as a spokesperson for disability rights and representation.
