Yael Cohen Braun

Yael Cohen Braun is the co-founder and board chair of F*ck Cancer, a health organization founded in 2009 with the goal of promoting early detection, preventive lifestyle habits, and open communication about cancer. The organization was established after Braun's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. With her background in finance, Braun decided to create a non-profit that utilizes frank language to address the serious issue of cancer. She also founded Clarify Clinics, which practices subtractive medicine using the Clari procedure, a CE Mark-approved medical treatment that removes microplastics, PFAS, and other harmful substances from blood.

Throughout its existence, Fck Cancer has had various collaborations. In 2016, for instance, it worked with jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher to provide support for cancer victims. Braun herself continues to serve as an advocate for a range of health and health care issues. Through her work with Fck Cancer, she has helped change the way people communicate about cancer. The organization is recognized for creating relatable tools and campaigns, often utilizing technology, humor, and celebrity endorsements to engage with its community.

Aside from her work with F*ck Cancer, Braun has been recognized for her contributions in philanthropy and social entrepreneurship. In 2011, she was named as one of the "12 people who are transforming philanthropy" by Canada's The Globe and Mail. In 2012, Braun was named one of Fast Company's "100 Most Creative People in Business," featured as one of Elle's "2012 Genius Award" recipients, one of "Canada's Most Powerful Women" by the Financial Post, and one of Vancouver's "Forty Under 40" by Business In Vancouver Magazine.

Braun's advocacy work extends to public speaking, where she discusses her entrepreneurial journey and advocacy work. She was also featured in a video produced by "Makers: Women Who Make America," which highlighted her significant contributions to cancer awareness and early detection. In recognition of her work, she has been awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Award. Braun has also been a featured participant at prominent events, including the Summit Series (Washington, D.C. and Miami), the Clinton Global Initiative, Big Omaha, TEDWomen, TEDx Vancouver, the United Nations Nexus Conference, and TEDMED.
