William DuVall

William DuVall is a celebrated musician, best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the iconic rock band Alice in Chains since 2006. Stepping into the massive shoes of the late Layne Staley, DuVall helped usher in a new era for the band, contributing to its resurgence and continued critical and commercial success. His debut with Alice in Chains came on the 2009 album Black Gives Way to Blue, which was met with widespread acclaim and certified gold. DuVall's haunting vocal harmonies with Jerry Cantrell have become a hallmark of the band's post-Staley sound, and he has since co-written and performed on subsequent albums including The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here (2013) and Rainier Fog (2018).

Before joining Alice in Chains, DuVall had already built a rich musical résumé, including his work with Atlanta-based punk band Neon Christ in the 1980s and later with groups like Comes with the Fall, which he co-founded.
