William Clark Green

William Clark Green is an country singer-songwriter known for narrative-driven songs and a raw delivery that has attracted a following across the Southwest. After being introduced to the Texas singer-songwriter tradition by his father, Green immersed himself in the work of Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Pat Green, which influenced his own songwriting. He began his career performing at Lubbock's Blue Light while attending Texas Tech, becoming a key figure in the Red Dirt music scene.

Green's recording career began with the album "Dangerous Man," followed by "Misunderstood." His breakthrough came with "Rose Queen," which produced the single "It's About Time," a Top Ten song on Texas Radio, and "She Likes the Beatles," a No. 1 regional hit. The album generated three top ten singles on the Texas country charts. Green's fourth album, "Ringling Road," included the songs "Sympathy," "Sticks and Stones," and the title track, all of which received significant radio play in Texas. The album reached No. 18 on the U.S. Country Albums chart and No. 1 on the Heatseekers chart. His fifth studio album, "Hebert Island," reached No. 1 on the iTunes Country chart. "Watterson Hall," his seventh studio album, features a blend of Texas country, Red Dirt, and personal songwriting, exploring themes such as family, love, and life experience.

Green received the New Male Vocalist of the Year honor at the Texas Regional Radio Report Awards. He is recognized for high-energy live performances and has released multiple live albums. His music draws from roots rock, Western balladry, and orchestral influences, maintaining a signature Texas country style.

Green co-founded the Texas supergroup The Panhandlers with Josh Abbott, Cleto Cordero of Flatland Cavalry, and John Baumann, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the Texas country music community. He also founded Cotton Fest, a Lubbock music festival, and the High Cotton Relief Fund, which supports Texas agricultural producers affected by drought, wildfires, and other challenges. The fund has raised more than $2.25 million. Through his music and philanthropic work, Green is recognized as a prominent voice in Texas country music and the agricultural community.
