Weston McKennie

Weston McKennie is recognized as one of the most dynamic and versatile midfielders in American soccer, building a career at the highest levels of European football. Known for his positional versatility, McKennie has played as an attacking, central, and defensive midfielder, as well as a defender and forward. A youth product of FC Dallas, McKennie began his senior club career at Bundesliga club Schalke 04 after progressing through the academy. He made his Bundesliga debut at age 18 and went on to make 25 appearances in all competitions the following season, earning a call-up to the United States Men's National Team, where he scored a goal on his senior international debut in a friendly against Portugal.

McKennie's transfer to Italy marked a significant chapter in his club career. He became the first American to play for Juventus, initially joining on loan before the move was made permanent. During his time with Juventus, McKennie won the Coppa Italia and surpassed 200 appearances, contributing 26 goals and 26 assists. His ability to play multiple positions, including center midfielder, striker, winger, full-back, and defender, has been a hallmark of his career. In one season, McKennie became the third midfielder to reach 10 goals in European competition for Juventus, joining Pavel Nedved and Michel Platini.
