Wataru Endō

Wataru Endō is a Japanese professional footballer known for his role as a Premier League midfielder and as captain of the Japan national team. Endō began his career at J1 League club Shonan Bellmare before moving to Urawa Red Diamonds, where he contributed to a league title and an AFC Champions League victory. During his tenure with Shonan, Endō scored 23 goals and provided seven assists in 167 appearances. He later joined Sint-Truiden in the Belgian Pro League, followed by a loan to Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart, where he eventually signed permanently and captained the team during his final season in Germany.

At VfB Stuttgart, Endō established himself as a defensive midfielder in European football, earning the Bundesliga Duel King title for two consecutive seasons. He was named club captain and played a pivotal role in maintaining Stuttgart's Bundesliga status, notably scoring a decisive goal in a 2-1 win over Cologne.
