Warner Bailey

Warner Bailey is the founder of Assistants vs. Agents (AvA), a media and educational platform built around the people trying to break into and build careers in the entertainment industry. What began as an anonymous Instagram meme page has evolved into a sizable entertainment community, newsletter, job board, live programming and content platform connecting emerging professionals with executives, agents, artists and other industry leaders.

Bailey launched Assistants vs. Agents in 2018 while working as an assistant at talent agency WME. The account offered a humorous—and often unfiltered—look at the demanding, sometimes absurd realities of life at the bottom of the Hollywood hierarchy. Bailey eventually took over the account himself and transformed it from a meme page into a broader community and business focused on helping the next generation navigate entertainment careers.

Today, Bailey writes the AvA newsletter, which provides entertainment-industry news, job opportunities, interviews and career advice, and hosts AvA LIVE, a weekly program featuring conversations with entertainment executives and other industry figures. AvA has developed partnerships with major companies and brands including Netflix, Apple TV+, Paramount+, Amazon MGM Studios, Warner Bros., Meta and Nike. Bailey was also signed by United Talent Agency (UTA) in 2025 for representation across multiple areas.

Before building AvA, Bailey worked in touring at Live Nation and as an agent trainee at WME. He also served as Festival Director of M3F Fest in Phoenix, where he helped create the M3F Fund, which directed millions of dollars toward charitable causes during his tenure. He has remained active in philanthropy and the arts, including producing a Los Angeles fire-relief benefit with YouTube and MusiCares and serving on the Music Industry Advisory Board of Save the Music.

A graduate of Georgetown University, Bailey has become a prominent voice on the changing pathways into entertainment. His message increasingly emphasizes that aspiring professionals no longer have to rely exclusively on the traditional assistant-to-executive career ladder.
