Walter Koenig

Walter Koenig is an actor and writer best known for his role as Pavel Chekov in the iconic science fiction franchise "Star Trek." Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in New York City, Koenig studied acting at UCLA and trained with renowned teacher Jeff Corey. He began his career with stage work and guest appearances on television before landing the role that would define much of his early career.

Koenig joined "Star Trek" in its second season in 1967 as Ensign Pavel Chekov, the young, enthusiastic Russian navigator of the USS Enterprise.
