Viswas Raghavan

Viswas Raghavan is the head of banking and executive vice chair at Citi, overseeing the firm’s corporate, commercial, and investment banking activities across nearly 100 markets. In this role, Raghavan collaborates with Citi’s international franchises to support the global delivery of the firm’s resources and contributes to shaping and executing Citi’s overall strategy. As a member of Citi’s executive management team and the board of the Citi Foundation, Raghavan is known for his leadership in global banking environments.

Before joining Citi, Raghavan held senior positions at J.P. Morgan, including head of global investment banking and CEO for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His roles at J.P. Morgan included co-head of global investment and corporate banking, head of international capital markets, and global head of equity capital markets. Raghavan’s expertise covers debt and equity capital markets, treasury services, and corporate banking, with a focus on organizational transformation and client strategies in the financial services industry.

Raghavan holds a Bachelor of Science in physics from University of Bombay and an honors degree in electronic engineering and computer science from Aston University, where he also received an honorary doctorate. He is a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Raghavan is recognized for his analytical skills and contributions to thought leadership in global finance, frequently speaking on topics related to banking, capital markets, and financial strategy.
