Vipul Ved Prakash

Vipul Ved Prakash is a software engineer and entrepreneur recognized for his contributions to internet security, collaborative intelligence systems, and artificial intelligence. Prakash is known for creating "Vipul's Razor," a collaborative anti-spam system that became widely adopted in the cybersecurity industry. This open-source platform enabled users to report spam emails, which were then blocked or filtered, and was deployed on over 10 million computers. Prakash was named to MIT Technology Review's list of the top 100 young innovators for his work in anti-spam technology.

Prakash worked as an engineer at Napster before co-founding Cloudmark with Jordan Ritter. Cloudmark offered commercial email security software for consumers, enterprises, and ISPs, leveraging the collaborative filtration technology of "Vipul's Razor." The company was later acquired by Proofpoint. Prakash then co-founded Topsy, a real-time social search engine that indexed and analyzed the public Twitter stream, advancing social media analytics and search. Topsy was acquired by Apple Inc.

After the acquisition, Prakash served as a senior director at Apple, leading search and artificial intelligence initiatives for Siri. He later became CEO and co-founder of Together AI, a company specializing in AI acceleration cloud infrastructure for generative AI workloads. Together AI provides a full-stack platform for open-source AI, supporting efficient inference for AI applications and agents. The platform is used by customers including Cognition, Decagon, Eleven Labs, Cursor, and Suno.

Prakash has spoken at industry events such as the Milken Institute Global Conference and HumanX, sharing insights on AI democratization, open-source models, and the evolution of internet security and social analytics. His career reflects a focus on building technologies that impact communication, search, and computing across the technology sector.
