Victoria Monét

Victoria Monét is an American R&B singer-songwriter and record producer known for her transition from behind-the-scenes songwriter to Grammy Award-winning solo artist. Monét began her music career as part of a girl group formed by record producer Rodney Jerkins before focusing on songwriting, collaborating with Jerkins and D'Mile. Influenced by industry figures such as LaShawn Daniels, she developed her skills in writing and vocal production.

Monét has been a frequent collaborator with Ariana Grande, co-writing songs for each of Grande's studio albums from "Yours Truly" through "Positions." Her work on Grande's "Thank U, Next" earned her multiple Grammy Award nominations, including Album of the Year. Monét and Grande also released the single "Monopoly," which reached the top 40 on the UK Singles Chart. In addition to her work with Grande, Monét has contributed to projects for artists including Nas, Travis Scott, Blackpink, Fifth Harmony, T.I., Lupe Fiasco, Chrisette Michele, Brandy, Coco Jones, Chloe x Halle, and Chris Brown.

After gaining recognition for her songwriting, Monét pursued a solo recording career, releasing a series of extended plays. Her EP "Jaguar" received critical acclaim, and she later released the album "Jaguar II" under RCA. The album, produced in collaboration with D'Mile, blends contemporary R&B with elements of '70s Motown, funk, and psychedelic soul, and features guest appearances from Lucky Daye, Buju Banton, and Earth, Wind & Fire. The track "On My Mama" achieved significant success on radio and online platforms, with its music video receiving attention from artists such as Cardi B, SZA, Teyana Taylor, Camila Cabello, and Ariana Grande.

At the Grammy Awards, Monét won Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, among seven nominations. A deluxe edition of "Jaguar II" included additional tracks and collaborations with Usher, Bryson Tiller, and Thundercat. Monét also completed a headlining tour, selling out all 22 shows.

Monét's accolades include two Soul Train Music Awards, three Grammy Awards, and the Rising Star Award from Billboard Women in Music. She has emphasized the value of her gradual path to recognition, describing her career as built "brick by brick."
