Verónica Arroyave

Verónica Arroyave, Ph.D., MPH, is a corporate responsibility executive with a focus on advancing global health equity and social impact. Arroyave serves as vice president of corporate responsibility and global philanthropy at Baxter Healthcare and executive director of the Baxter Foundation. In these roles, she works across the enterprise to elevate the intersection of business impact, corporate responsibility, and social investments. Arroyave holds advanced degrees from Our Lady of Holy Cross, Tulane University, and Virginia Tech, and has earned a Certified Corporate Responsibility Executive credential from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business.

Arroyave's career spans the corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors, providing a multidimensional perspective on global health challenges. Her professional background includes roles at AbbVie, Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth (Pfizer), Project HOPE, Carilion Foundation, Medical Teams International, MAP International, and USAID MEASURE Evaluation program. After serving as director of corporate responsibility for the AbbVie Foundation, Arroyave joined the Partnership for Quality Medical Donations, where she delivered keynote addresses on global health partnerships and neglected tropical diseases. During her time at AbbVie, she represented the company on the Gates Foundation CEO Global Health Roundtable to support neglected tropical disease initiatives.

At Baxter, Arroyave has developed a philanthropic strategy focused on building global partnerships to increase access to healthcare, supporting STEM education, and fostering resilient communities. Through the Baxter Foundation, she advances the company's mission to save and sustain lives. The Baxter Foundation, established as the philanthropic arm of Baxter International Inc., manages assets of $67.5 million and annual charitable disbursements of $14.1 million. Under Arroyave's leadership, the Baxter Foundation has partnered with UNICEF, investing more than $7 million to support disaster relief efforts and improve access to healthcare through clean water, sanitation, and climate-resilient initiatives.

Arroyave is active in the corporate citizenship community, holding leadership and advisory roles across sectors to catalyze global health partnerships. She serves on the board of the Association of Corporate Citizenship Professionals and has moderated forums on global health policy, including panels at the PQMD Global Health Policy Forum. Her work includes partnerships with organizations such as Direct Relief, with the Baxter Foundation co-sponsoring the annual Transformative Innovation Awards in Community Health to support organizations expanding nutrition education and improving diabetes care in underserved communities.
