Vasu Sojitra

Vasu Sojitra is a professional skier and disability access strategist. Sojitra has climbed peaks such as the Grand Teton and was the first disabled person to ski peaks in Montana’s Beartooth and Bridger Mountains, completing significant ski descents on Tahoma (Mount Rainier) and Denali—all on one leg and without a prosthetic. He is also recognized as the first adaptive skier to land a 720-degree rotation in the air, representing a pioneering achievement in adaptive ski mountaineering.

Sojitra is dedicated to increasing accessibility for people with disabilities and people of color in outdoor recreation. Guided by his motto, “#ninjasticking through the wood to center intersectionality in the outdoors,” he collaborates with companies such as The North Face, REI, Faction, and others to educate leadership on disability inclusion and representation.

Sojitra is the first adaptive athlete for The North Face and a founding member of The Outdoor F.U.T.U.R.E Initiative. He is sponsored by REI, Subaru, Skullcandy, OnX, Faction Collective, and HydroFlask. His work includes starring in the short film "Aikyam," which documents his journey skiing in Gulmarg, India, and exploring his heritage. Sojitra continues to advocate for inclusivity and access in outdoor sports, using his platform to support marginalized communities.
