Vandita Pant

Vandita Pant serves as chief financial officer of BHP, the world’s largest listed mining company. In this role, Pant oversees global capital allocation, treasury, investor relations, financial planning, group reporting, risk, and audit functions. Based in Melbourne, she is a member of the company’s executive leadership team and supports BHP’s strategic goals and value creation. Pant also chairs the board of directors of the BHP Foundation, reflecting her involvement in both corporate and philanthropic activities.

Pant began her career with BHP as group treasurer and head of Europe, managing structural financial risk, liquidity, and corporate finance. She later served as chief commercial officer, leading global sales and marketing, procurement, and maritime operations, and shaping BHP’s approach to global commodities markets. Before joining BHP, Pant accumulated more than three decades of international experience in banking, holding executive roles in India, Singapore, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Her banking career included serving as group head of capital management and markets at RBS, where she established global balance sheet and liquidity management following the 2008 financial crisis.

Pant has received the Asian Woman of Achievement Professions Award in the United Kingdom and has been named among the Top 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining. She has also been featured on the Forbes World’s Most Influential Chief Marketing Officers list. Pant is a frequent speaker and panelist, engaging with shareholders and the public in forums such as BHP’s Shareholder Q&A, where she discusses financial strategies and operational insights. Her expertise in mining, global finance, and commodities markets positions her as a thought leader in the resources sector.
