Tyson Jerry is a Canadian Guinness World Record holder and a recognized expert in the transition to low-carbon transportation. His career blends technical insight with real-world adventure, ranging from record-setting alternative-fuel expeditions to leading clean transportation strategy at British Columbia’s largest energy utility.

Today, Jerry plays a central role in shaping how commercial fleets across the province move toward cleaner fuels. His work spans the full spectrum of low-carbon solutions including CNG, RNG, LNG, battery-electric vehicles and hydrogen, giving him a broad and practical perspective on what it takes to decarbonize medium- and heavy-duty transportation. Tyson works closely with fleets, municipalities, vehicle manufacturers and policymakers to help bring new fueling technologies to life, improve operational readiness and bridge the gap between emerging innovations and day-to-day commercial reality.

Long before his work in utilities, Jerry was already pushing the boundaries of what sustainable transportation could look like. He co-founded the nonprofit campaign Driven to Sustain, developed a continent-wide environmental education program with the Sierra Club of BC, and embarked on a 48,535 kilometer journey across North America in a van powered entirely by waste vegetable oil. The expedition earned him the Guinness World Record for the longest journey by car using alternative fuel and inspired thousands of students to see climate action as both possible and exciting.
