Two Friends

Two Friends is a DJ and producer duo consisting of Matt Halper and Eli Sones. The pair is known for their original electronic music, remixes, and hour-long "Big Bootie" mixes, a signature format that blends hundreds of songs from various genres and decades into seamless, high-energy mashup experiences. Halper and Sones developed the name Two Friends during a high school Senior Seminar class and began their careers producing hip-hop beats in Pro Tools for emerging rappers before transitioning to electronic dance music. Halper brings a background in guitar and music theory, while Sones contributes expertise in mashups and DJing.

After starting to create music together, Sones attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, majoring in Human and Organizational Development, while Halper studied Product Design at Stanford University. Despite the distance, they continued to focus on the Two Friends project, working long-distance for four years before returning to Los Angeles to pursue music full-time.

A significant breakthrough came when their remix of Lana Del Rey's "Born to Die" was added to regular rotation on SiriusXM's BPM. Two Friends gained further recognition with viral remixes of The Killers' "Mr. Brightside," Blink-182's "I Miss You," and their "Big Bootie Mix" series, which received the Award of Independent Excellence from the Hollywood Music in Media Awards and Top DJ Set honors from SoundCloud for "Big Bootie Mix Volume 11."

The "Big Bootie Mix" series has amassed millions of streams on YouTube and SoundCloud, becoming a staple for dance music fans. The debut live streams of these mixes have sold tens of thousands of tickets. To mark ten years of "Big Bootie" mixes, Two Friends produced a concert called "Big Bootie Land" in Boston, drawing a crowd of over 12,000. The duo expanded this concept into an annual festival, premiering new mixes in different cities and incorporating original characters and storylines.

Two Friends have performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and embarked on "The Planet Two Friends Tour," playing at venues such as Red Rocks, Northerly Island, and Forest Hills Stadium. The tour featured a spaceship-DJ-booth hybrid, first introduced at Coachella. The duo has also headlined shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, and performed at major music festivals including Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza.

The pair hold residencies at Wynn's XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, as well as HQ2 Nightclub + Beachclub in Atlantic City and LIV Nightclub in Miami. Their collaborative single "If Only I" with Loud Luxury and Bebe Rexha reached No. 16 on the U.S. Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Two Friends continue to release collaborative singles, including "Way It Was" featuring Quinn XCII, "No One Else" featuring Corbyn Besson, and "Trouble" featuring maryjo. With hundreds of millions of streams and support from outlets such as Billboard and Dancing Astronaut, Two Friends maintain a prominent presence in the electronic dance music and crossover pop music scenes.
