Troy Brown

Troy Brown is a New England Patriot skills development coach. He is a College Football Hall of Fame inductee. Brown was a former NFL wide receiver, cornerback and punt returner in the National Football League.

At the beginning of the 2019 NFL season, he began coaching in an unofficial capacity with the New England Patriots, assisting wide receivers coach Joe Judge, who was often busy with his other role as special teams’ coordinator. In addition, in 2016 he was a part of the Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship working with the Patriots. In 2020, it was officially announced that Brown was on the Patriots coaching staff. He would be serving as the team's running backs/kick returners coach. In 2024, Brown was moved to a skills development role.

Brown played college football at Marshall and was drafted by the New England Patriots in the eighth round of the 1993 NFL Draft. Brown played his entire 15-year career with the Patriots. He earned three Super Bowl rings with the team; he played on five of the seven Patriots teams to reach the Super Bowl, and he retired as the franchise leader in career receptions.

Brown is a fan favorite among many Patriots fans due to his style of play and years of dedication to his team. His punt return in the 2001 AFC Championship along with numerous big plays throughout his Patriots career culminated in his induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame at Patriots Place. Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft have both stated Brown has been one of the best players in Patriots history and were saddened to see him leave the team when he retired.

On May 11, 2010, Brown was elected into the College Football Hall of Fame. Brown was elected to the Patriots Hall of Fame by fan vote beating out former coach Bill Parcells and safety Fred Marion in 2012.
